Oh, Baby! Trends in Nursery Design

When it comes to nurseries, they might be the most excitable room to design. Your child will grow with the space and it will likely change many, many times over the years. This takes the pressure off of making a timeless space, but rather choosing staple pieces and having fun with the rest - because you can! All the mini things and playful toys, please!

Just because they won’t remember much about their nursery doesn’t mean that the design get’s kicked to the curb. Let’s be honest, this is the best part about nesting! I love the serenity of these soothing neutral gray tones. The dip-dyed chandelier is a staple piece that can grow with this babe for years to come!

Reach for the sky, little one! I love the look of an accenting ceiling color. In this case, the peach plays off of the natural wood adding a pop of color while not complicating the space. Also, I love seeing rattan and natural wood as elements of nursery trends as of late.

We are a big fan of wall coverings here at Root’d, that’s no secret. I love how owner, Melissa Berry, added this playful element of lined wall covering to her baby boy’s nursery.

Go big, or go home! If you’re really feeling the commitment, a large scale wall mural is the way to go. I love the whimsy of the jungle scene shown below.
