Show Me Your "A" Game

If you look through my current feed on Pinterest, you’ll see a common theme - A-frames! I can’t seem to get enough of them recently. The iconic roof line lends itself to Scandinavian and 70’s design, though it is making a comeback as a highly popular design trend. For those looking for a project, A-frames seem to be affordable in the current market; a reno-lover’s dream!

Even if the overall structure doesn’t reflect the dramatic classic A frame roof line, we see glimpses of the structure in other areas of home design. Most commonly, a pitched roof is seen in bathrooms, tucked away under an eve. This creates a depth of space in an area that you wouldn’t expect. It is a fun play on the overall design of the house - bringing the outside view of the home, in.

Evidently, the A-frame structure lends itself to exposed beam galore; a personal favorite in any application. Mix the beams in with a couple of skylights and you’re doing something right.
