Trends in Bathroom Design

Have that lonely main floor powder room that gets all the traffic but no design attention? More and more we're seeing bathrooms pop up as one of the most highly styled aspects of a home. While once a simple space for your dirty work - bathrooms have evolved to be havens of serenity and also highly sought after style icons of a home. Read along for some trends that might just inspire you to spruce up the water closet.

The vanity, reimagined.

The vanity has embodied a whole new look over the years. The set of drawers and lower cabinets are things of the past. Think outside the box with funky shelves, floating aspects and unconventional storage.

Marble, more than just a top.

All marble, everything. I think this is a design trend that I'm most excited to see. I love the use of marble in a space to add a natural element while keeping the design clean line and refined. Here we're seeing it used as full vessel sink/vanity combo and that waterfall top, I mean c'mon.

Contrasting tile - finding your 'pop'

There's a fine line between overdone and just right. I think contrasting tile falls in this gray zone. The tiles have to complement each other, while showing enough contrasting to be appealing to the eye. I love the use of different texture in this application rather than pattern, but to each their own. The most important thing is to keep timelessness in mind and to love it!
